    International Exhibition of Power, Generation and Distribution “Electric, Power & Renewable Energy Indonesia-2013”

    On September 4–7 Jakarta (Indonesia) hosted the International Exhibition “Electric, Power & Renewable Energy Indonesia-2013” and Conference of Indonesian Electrical Power Society CIEPS-2013. At these events Russian power industry was represented by the Ministry of Energy of RF Delegation headed by Yuri Sentyurin, State Secretary, Deputy Minister of Energy of RF. Mass media were represented by the industry publication – the magazine “ELECTRIC POWER. Transmission and Distribution”.
    The Russian part of the agenda included the plenary session “Investment Opportunities for Renewable Energy”, the press briefing “Russia at the International Exhibition “Electric, Power & Renewable Energy Indonesia” (with Ekaterina Guseva, Chief Editor of the magazine “ELECTRIC POWER. Transmission and Distribution”, as the moderator) and the round-table discussion “Basic Vectors of the Interstate Energy Cooperation (with Mikhail Kuritsyn, Executive Director of Russia-Indonesia Business Council for Cooperation as the moderator).
    Within the framework of the second day’s agenda there was a meeting of the Ministry of Energy of RF Delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Energy of RF Yuri Sentyurin and Indonesian Delegation, which included Advisor for Electric Power of the Coordinating Minister of Economic Affairs Emi Berdanohari. According to Yuri Sentyurin, Indonesia is a strategic partner of Russia in the Asia Pacific Region and Russia wants its companies to be present on markets of Indonesia. This cooperation will have a positive impact on strengthening of economic resilience of both countries.
    The event also included the open session “Participation of Russia in Implementation of Indonesian Plans of Electric Energy Development”. The participants of the session were Indonesian companies, PenConsulting and Intelcom, as well as Russian ones, JSC “Russian Grids”, Agency for Gasification and Infrastructure Development of Sakhalin Region, OJSC “Power Machines”, UMEK Group and others.
    They discussed issues related to export potential, prospective projects and innovations of Russian manufacturing companies, along with opportunities of their integration at generation facilities in Indonesia and countries of the Asia Pacific Region.
    Within the framework of “Electric, Power & Renewable Energy Indonesia-2013” Exhibition the Russian delegation could visit Salak Geothermal Power Plant, one of the largest plants in the world. During the visit Russian specialists were able to know the opportunities and achievements of their Indonesian colleagues in the field of use of renewable energy sources.
    On September 6, 2013, the Indonesian capital Jakarta hosted a working meeting of the Russian delegation headed by Yuri Sentyurin, State Secretary, Deputy Minister of Energy of RF, and representatives of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Indonesia led by Susilo Siswoutomo, Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of Indonesia.
    The key issue of the meeting was discussing the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Energy of RF and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Indonesia on cooperation in the field of energy and mineral resources, which was to be signed.
    According to both sides, the Memorandum will make it possible for Russia and Indonesia to develop their cooperation in energy sphere, including electric power, in a more vigorous and successful way.
