Magazine “ELECTRIC POWER. Transmission and Distribution” – In the Thick of Events at POWER-GEN Europe 2013 in Austria

June 4–6 – Vienna, Austria, hosted one of the landmark events in the world power industry – the Conference and Exhibition POWER-GEN Europe 2013. The Ministry of Energy of RF spoke about achievements of the Russian Federation in the energy sphere. At POWER-GEN Europe 2013 the Russian delegation headed by State Secretary, Deputy Minister of Energy of RF Yuri Sentyurin familiarized foreign partners with results of their work and basic tasks of the fuel and energy sector of Russia, the largest segment of the country’s economy and the largest energy sector in the world. During the plenary meeting arranged by the Ministry of Energy Delegation the representatives of JSC “Russian Grids”, JSC “SO of UES” and other organizations of the energy sector furnished detailed information about the current state of the electric power industry in Russia and prospects of its development.
On June 4-5, within the framework of POWER-GEN Austria, the exhibition stand of the Ministry of Energy of RF hosted the seminar arranged by the Russian Energy Agency ( “REA”), Federal Energy Service Company (“FESCO”), Austrian Energy Agency and Association of Energy Service Companies of Austria, in order to exchange experience with Austrian colleagues on approaches to energy saving and increasing energy efficiency as well as experience in the field of implementing various mechanisms of energy service contracts. The media partner of the event was the magazine “ELECTRIC POWER. Transmission and Distribution”.
A comprehensive program was prepared for the guests of the event. Delegates from more than 80 countries of the world discussed strategic issues of Europe energy sector development, methods of reducing harmful emissions into the atmosphere in electric power generation, as well as designs of new efficient and safe energy generating units. Great attention was paid to issues related to automation of all technological processes and integration of power facilities into the highly efficient smart system.
Members of the Russian delegation and foreign guests of the exhibition saw a presentation of the new issue of the magazine “ELECTRIC POWER. Transmission and Distribution” (May-June 2013), which contained unique materials about the Russian power grid sector, events and trends in Russian power industry. The brand of the magazine was already well known to foreign specialists, who had had the opportunity to estimate its timely character and wealth of information during WELC-2011 in Moscow and CIGRE-2012 in Paris. Notwithstanding the fact that the magazine is published in Russian, specialists from Austria, Germany, Poland, Italy, Spain, Czech Republic, Finland and other countries expressed their genuine interest to the publication. Business contacts established by representatives of the magazine –Editor-in-Chief Ekaterina Guseva, Science Editor Mikhail Lint and Director for Strategic Projects Alexander Pavlov – will make it possible in the nearest future to discuss issues of development of small-scale power generation and integration of energy-efficient solutions within pages of the edition deeper and in greater detail. The experience of Russian and foreign companies concerning these issues will help Russian specialists in working out similar technical and organizational solutions, which, in its turn, will speed up the process of integration of “green” technologies in Russia.
