Magazine “ELECTRIC POWER. Transmission and Distribution” participated in the Conference “RELAVEXPO 2013”

Representatives of the magazine “ELECTRIC POWER. Transmission and Distribution”, a publication for specialists in the power grid sector, took part in II International Conference and Exhibition «Protection and automation of electric power systems of Russia-2013″ («RELAVEXPO-2013”), which was held April, 23-26, in Cheboksary. Its main aim was to demonstrate the potential of the electrical engineering cluster enterprises of the Chuvash Republic that produce relay protection and automation devices as well as testing equipment.
The Opening Ceremony was attended by the Head of Chuvash Republic Mikhail Ignatiev; First Deputy Chairman of the Management Board, Chief Engineer of JSC “FGC UES” Andrey Cherezov ; Deputy Chairman of the Board, Chief Engineer of JSC “RusHydro” Rakhmatulla Alzhanov; Deputy Director for Regime Control of JSC “System Operator of UES” Andrey Zhukov; Vice-President of the National Assembly of Serbia, President of “ABS Electro” Group of Companies Nenad Popović.
This year the display area was increased 3 times and was attended by companies from other regions of Russia which manufacture not only final products, but components for their assembly as well. Stands displayed various devices, tools and large-size equipment. It made the dialogue between manufacturers and consumers of electric equipment more focused and profound, and, consequently, more clear to both sides interested in fruitful and effective collaboration.
The exhibition in Cheboksary was attended by more than 750 representatives from manufacturing and supplying companies from 52 regions of Russia, Austria, Canada, France, Belarus and Ukraine, as well as representatives of companies “RusHydro”, “Rosatom”, JSC “FGC UES”, “Russian Railways”, subdivisions of the Ministry of Defence of Russia, design organizations, engineering companies and more than 20 higher educational establishments of Russia.
Head of Chuvashia Mikhail Ignatiev examined the RELAVEXPO-2013 exposition, which demonstrated the latest achievements in the field of electric power equipment of leading enterprises in the sphere. Andrey Cherezov, Chief Engineer of JSC “FGC UES”, stated that the choice of Cheboksary as the place for holding the Conference and Exhibition “RELAVEXPO-2013” was well-grounded: Chuvashia develops and manufactures about 40% of equipment now used in Russian power grids.
According to Andrey Cherezov, the Federal Grid Company systematically increases the share of Russian equipment used in modernization and construction of new energy facilities. Interaction between JSC “FGC UES” and Russian manufacturers of electric equipment enables promoting technological development of Russian electric engineering industry and decreasing the dependence on equipment of foreign manufacture.
During four days of the exhibition there were plenary sessions and thematic round-tables, where participants of the conference discussed issues related to modern Russian manufacture of relay protection and automation devices, prospects of developing diagnostics in electric power grids, as well as foreign experience in use of innovational solutions for the power grid sector.
