12th International Exhibition Cabex-2013 Breaks Records

Manufacturers and consumers of cable products met again at the International Exhibition of Cable Equipment “Cabex-2013: Cables. Wires. Accessories”. Traditionally, the forum was organized by the International Exhibition Company (МVK), JSC “All-Russian Research Project-engineering and Technical Institute of Cable Industry (VNIIKP)” and “Elektrokabel” NCP Association. Information support was provided by the media holding “RusCable”, which includes the Internet-Portal RusCable.Ru, magazines “CABLE-news” and “ELECTRIC POWER. Transmission and Distribution”.
At the opening ceremony of the new exhibition General Director of MVK Mikhail Basheleishvili stated that every year CABEX gathers pace. Today’s exhibition is record-breaking by the number of participants. This year about 200 companies, including 43 foreign firms from 14 countries, arranged displays. The total display area exceeded 5 thousand sq.m. This testifies to the steadily growing interest to the exhibition, which means that the exhibition successfully fulfills its information and technical as well as communication missions.
Honorary President of “Elektrokabel” NCP Association, President of “Interkabel” Association Izyaslav Peshkov, in his turn, underlined that Russian market of cable products continues to develop dynamically. About 90% of all cable products in Russia and CIS are manufactured by enterprises, members of “Elektrokabel” Association. Annually 35-40 companies of the Association take part in the specialized exhibition Cabex. These are only official figures. In fact, there are much more of them. Now we can observe the process of various mergers – manufacturers are consolidated into corporations and holdings. Thus, a single brand of one company can be represented by products of several enterprises.
Another modern trend is participation in the exhibition of famous cable companies from USA, Greece and other countries.
According to General Director of VNIIKP, President of “Elektrokabel” NCP Association Gennady Meshchanov, today’s exhibition is remarkable not only for the number of its participants and wealth of displays but for an exclusively busy agenda. The exhibition includes seminars and conferences, where representatives of the professional community discuss topical issues of the industry.
In particular, during the seminar “High-Voltage Cable Systems and Modern Monitoring System” specialists of “NKT cables” and Distributor Company “Smart Energo” spoke about technical and technological advantages of their products. The aim of NKT Cables GmbH is to provide the customer with reliable and high-quality products, therefore the company conducts constant monitoring at all stages of product manufacture – from the development of technology and know-how to commissioning.
